Providing the students with a new situation.

John and Tom are two English students who are planning to visit Tunisia. They share the same interests and have the same hobbies. They would love to discover authentic local culture and at the same time they would like to relax and have fun.

Examine the map on page 48 of your book and decide where they should go to spend nice holidays.

Collect the right information about accommodation and transport.

Click on Next and complete the leaflet.

Pair work: Making the students look on the Net for information about accommodation hotels, restaurants, museums, historical monuments in Tunisia. (This is an on-line ICT-based activity.)

Suggesting some places to write about in their leaflets.

Examples:
Visiting Sidi Bou Said;
Visiting museums and historical monuments and ruins (Museum of Bardo and Roman amphitheatre in El Jem);
Visiting the south (Tozeur and the desert);
Reminding the students to use the leaflet text structure and linguistic features;
Having a student read what he/she wrote with his/her mate about a certain place;
Giving the task as a homework to be finished.

Details about the choice of ICT resources and their exploitation:

Using the Internet to find appropriate information;
The computer program used to do this task is Microsoft Word.
This program helps students check their spelling and correct their mistakes by themselves. It allows them to make changes to written documents easily.

The advantages of the used ICT resources:

Searching the Net using search engines like www.google.com

On-line activities motivate students through the Net and supply them with plenty of authentic materials to accomplish their task;
Looking for information on the Net helps students become self-dependent;
Working cooperatively on the Net;
Writing using a word processor forces learners to use their creative thinking when they plan, write and revise, which prevents them from making a mess in their works;
Computers encourage creativity because of the ease with which changes can be made to written documents;
