The mosque is near a small arts and popular traditions museum ; it is
supported by a few superb columns and the visitor is struck by two things. Inside is the all marble miharab covered by multi-colored carpets offered by the faithful and the pervading smell of incense ;
outside is a splendid view like a beautiful painting. In the foreground is an unusual cemetery with simple tombs and adorned with wild flowers growing everywhere showing a spark of
life and a touch of gaiety in this place of trespass. It is a strange unvanquished place which devours all the living in turn and all those who err on this world on borrowed time.
It is a poet's dream, soothed by the echoes of the sea and the majestic solo of the desert stretching as the horizon and beyond. Then you have the flourishing green palm tree grove which contrasts
with the deep blue of the eternal ocean. |
