MY RED LETTER DAY

Earlier I was studying in Bhansali Vidhya Mandir Public School. One day as usual I came back from school, had my lunch and sat down to do my homework, later I took permission from my mother and went straight to the playground. When I came back home and sat down to drink milk, my mother told me that she was going to change my school. I thought she was joking. But in the evening when my father told me that I was really going to join a different school, I immediately stopped doing my homework.

On the very first day of my new school, I had to get up at 6 o'clock. I had a quick bath and a heavy breakfast. I dressed up and the jeep was already waiting of me. I reached Patansaongi bus stop. There I met Akshaya, who was studying in MODERN SCHOOL. He asked me to board the white bus. This bus took me to Pipla bus stop. At Pipla I met Rajiv - he was studying in class 6, section A.

When the bus reached the school I was a little confused as I did not know where to go. Just then I saw my old friend Siddarth; he was earlier studying with me at Bhansali school. He took me to class 6 section E. After the school prayers I introduced myself to all my classmates and the class teacher. I was expecting that the other students would tease me. But I was prepared and they could not trouble me. At the beginning of every period they all used to shout together and call out to the teacher for me. I also was very much excited. The students were good to me, but they teased me a lot. The teachers were kind to me.

It was an exciting day! I made  many friends and now I was a student of a big school. When I came back home, my father, mother and my younger brother surrounded me and eagerly asked me a hundred questions. They were pleased to see me happy.

July 29, 1999 was truly my Red Letter Day!
